Celebrate our city’s art and culture with Art in Motion!
Art is on the move this September on First Street SE, starting at the Esplanade and flowing down the street to Towne Square, and throughout the broader downtown area. This multi-faceted event kicks off at noon and moves into the evening and night. Enjoy FREE all ages daytime activities, including Saamis Immigration SHINE cultural performances, roving street performers, and then wrap up the evening with night shows on the festival stage.
Support, celebrate and engage with local artists and community organizations! Included in the line-up for this year only, we are proud to host from 4-6 PM in the theatre the Lieutenant Governor Alberta Arts Awards, honouring Alberta’s most accomplished artists!
Take in live art demonstrations by local artists and art organizations or get hands on and create it yourself! Enjoy live music, cultural and street performances or get in motion with community groups like Cousins Skateboard Community, Medicine Hat Skateboard Association, Pop Up Parks with Hula from the Heart and the Sensational Path Sensory Bus.
Get bold, bright, and messy in our Colour Blast Zone where you can cool down with a fun watercolor fight then take a stroll through Foam Frenzy. Enjoy our kids zone with FREE face painting, bouncy castles and much more.
Now that you've worked up an appetite stop by one of the local food trucks on location or explore downtown and treat yourself to shopping and more tasty eats!
There will be tons to see and do as you get on the move with Art In Motion!
Local band Snakes and the Riot will be rocking the stage before our headliner closes out the night!
Headliner Hawksley Workman goes live on the FREE outdoor festival stage at 7:30 PM!
Hawksley Workman is a JUNO Award-winning and Gold Record certified singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Since his ground-breaking self-produced indie debut For Him and The Girls (1999) through to chart-topping singles of 2020, Hawksley has careened between major label international smash hits to Canadiana soaked indie releases. Boasting a catalogue of17 solo records, Hawksley’s genre defying style strings together folk, chart pop and irrepressible cabaret. His show-stopping vocals on songs about weather, love, heartbreak and tales of end-times have garnered him a league of devoted fans.

Celebrate Alberta's 2023 distinguished artists September 16 right here in Medicine Hat
We're rolling out the welcome mat for the 2023 distinguished artist awards as part of our Art in Motion celebrations. The day includes free all ages daytime activities, the cultural performances of Saamis Immigration SHINE, art demonstrations by local artists, roving street performers, and evening performances on the outdoor festival stage, and MORE!
From 4-6 PM in the theatre, we’ll hear from Her Honour Salma Lakhani, and then introduce and showcase the 2023 distinguished artists – Mieko Ouchi, Michelle Thrush, and Amanda Forbis and Wendy Tilby.
There’ll be entertainment throughout and it will end with a conversation with the 2023 distinguished artists led by Clint Lawrence from Medicine Hat College. The Awards event will be followed by a reception. The day caps off with outdoor live band performances from 8–10 PM.

Bryan Adams has the reputation of being one the most exciting live musicians in the world. His energetic vocals and stage presence have proven to entertain for over 40 years.
With 17 studio albums, and four new studio albums in 2022 including, “So Happy It Hurts” (nominated for a Grammy) and “Pretty Woman – The Musical”. In addition to Classic pt. I and pt. II, which feature new recordings of his greatest hits, released digitally and in ATMOS with Platoon, are also available physically with BMG.
His song writing has garnered him numerous awards and accolades including three Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and a Grammy Award and 20 Juno Awards.
Bryan Adams is a Canadian singer/songwriter who will be playing the USA, South Africa, UAE, The Balkans and more, all in 2023.

Back by popular demand! Co-op Place is happy to announce the return of our Tigers pre-game buffet!
A fantastic buffet cooked fresh on site , patrons with a Gameday ticket can come early and beat the rush for a delicious pre-game meal, for only $25.
This buffet is a reserved seating event, and tickets are necessary for booking. Entry to the venue will be through the Suites entrance, with doors opening at 5pm.
Last service 5:45pm, please do not be late.
Ticket sales will close at 4:00pm on game day.
